7 Christmas traditions my family does every year that you can totally steal.
So, I come from a very large family, and my very large family likes to do Christmas LARGE. Here's a list of a few of our traditions. feel free to steal or riff on any of them: We make Lefse This one comes from my mother's Norwegian Grama. Lefse, say it with me lef-SUH, is a very thin tortilla like thing made from potatoes, flour, and lard. To eat it, you spread butter and sugar on it, fold it up and gain weight. Making lefse is a process, and a mess, so my mom usually picks a day, and … [Read more...]

No-Sew Native American Tunic in a Hurry!
Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays because it's typically filled with family, friends, food and napping. After planning and preparing the dinner, there typically aren't any extra tasks that are required to celebrate the holiday. This year, however, I got a request out of left field that threw me into a Turkey Day tizzy. My son volunteered to be in the Thanksgiving play. In my head, I thought they'd pass out pilgrim hats or feather head bands and call it a day. I already had 2 … [Read more...]

This year, I was pretty timely in my clean up and have only found a few holiday stowaway pine needles throughout the house. I am not sure how they even got into the bathroom!? Being Thankful…
As we approach Thanksgiving and the launch of the Christmas holiday season, it is far too easy to get caught up in the preparation hustle and bustle and forget what made these holidays so special to us as kids. The real meaning of the Holiday can easily be lost when we focus on all the work instead of why we are gathering together. Think back to your childhood Thanksgiving memories, remember how we were thankful just to be out of school, at home with our families while we counted down the … [Read more...]
From Target $1 Aisle to My Monthly Mantels
So I walk into Target and I go straight to the dollar bins. Is it really even possible to by pass these???? Brilliant on their part!! They had these adorable Halloween burlap banners with white, black, and orange dots. I loved them so much, I had to buy two! And at only a $1 each, it's a win. I off course had no idea what I was gonna do with the second banner since I only have one fireplace and mantel, but "not knowing" doesn't usually slow me down. I hung the banner for Halloween and … [Read more...]
