No-Sew Native American Tunic in a Hurry!

Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays because it's typically filled with family, friends, food and napping. After planning and preparing the dinner, there typically aren't any extra tasks that are required to celebrate the holiday. This year, however, I got a request out of left field that threw me into a Turkey Day tizzy.  My son volunteered to be in the Thanksgiving play. In my head, I thought they'd pass out pilgrim hats or feather head bands and call it a day. I already had 2 … [Read more...]

Craft Closet: Ideas are Springing!

My favorite thing about Winter is when it's OVER!! Don't get me wrong, there is so much about the season that I enjoy - but the moment I can shed all the layers and come out of hibernation, I'm bustin' out of that hole! Not to make too much of it, but it's kind of where I'm at with this Cloffice project. Craft Closet: A journey of a thousand miles begins with Step One!

So, a few days after posting last week's introduction of my Cloffice, I had a bit of a freak out. I said to myself "now I actually have to get my act together!"  And my husband told me "Bold move." I had all these grand plans to really dig in there and get all the stuff out of the closet and organize to my heart's content. Instead, I had to dig out my garage after we … [Read more...]

Craft Closet: Turning the Reality into the Dream

So I have this guilty pleasure (one of many, in fact). I LOVE to leaf through design magazines, HOUZZ and Pinterest and dream of the day I have that blissful space that is just mine all mine. In fact, I set out to do that very thing when we remodeled our basement in our cozy but SMALL 100 year old city house - which brings you to my Craft/Office/Closet - the Cloffice! We had a 5 x 7 ft walk in "room" or closet built into the plan and I had the amazing Teri from Closet Works  come in and … [Read more...]

Cake Pops En Pointe

One of the most favorite things I recall about being 5 was when it was my week to bring treats to Kindergarten. I LOVED it when my mom would bake cookies and send them to school with me! Once I became a mom, I couldn't wait for the days where I could bake and send homemade treats to school.  I was so bummed when I learned that you can't do that anymore!  As far as I was concerned, it was going to be one of the BEST parts of being a mom. I now understand all the reasons why this is and of … [Read more...]
